Again and again – panic attacks

A study reveals that about 10 percent of healthy individuals suffer from isolated panic attacks per year. They are very common in today’s society, where there is so much stress all over. Panic attack is not a disease but an intense fear or physiological distress. They are episodic in nature. The appearance of an episode is usually sudden and lasts from ten minutes to thirty minutes.
The cause of a panic attack can be pharmacological or psychological. They are usually caused by the fear of something or phobias. Biological condition can also be the culprit sometimes. Long and continuous use of certain drugs can also lead to panic attacks. Many times, the cause depends upon the person and his situation.
Whatever may be the reason of a panic attack, the symptoms are usually the same. A few of the symptoms are intense sweating, dizziness, nausea, trembling etc. Panic attacks are the most terrifying and distressing psychological episodes. Extending even to some in the small business field, who report that epidodes affect their business operations.
Fortunately, it is possible to treat panic attacks. Certain books on panic attacks treatment have been written by well-known authors. They have been successful in treating some people. Breathing exercises also help a lot to over come panic attacks. In severe cases, medication needs to be given to the patients for their well being.
Medication by itself cannot do the magic; the will power of the person to come out of the fearful circle of panic attacks is very important. You need to believe in yourself that you can do it, only then you will be able to come out of the dark tunnel of the panic attacks.
