Do I Need A Wedding Planner?

But is a wedding planner for you? Here are a few questions you should ask yourself before you decide?
Do you like to be in control?
Are you the sort of bride that wants to be involved every step of the way from making the wedding decorations to selecting the perfect wedding party gift? If this sounds like you, a wedding planner probably won’t be much help to you. If however you are happy to sit back and enjoy the day safe in the knowledge that somebody else has everything under control, you should seriously consider a wedding planner.
Do you have time to plan a wedding?
Brides often underestimate the time it takes to organise a wedding. If you are working full time, you may not be able to pull everything in; especially of you only have a short timeframe. If you can’t see yourself with the time to trawl around the bridal stores looking for that perfect wedding accessory, maybe a wedding planner is right for you.
Do you live near your wedding venue?
If you are having a long distance wedding, you might want to consider hiring a wedding planner that is based close to the wedding venue. They will be familiar with the local suppliers and can save you a lot of travelling back and forth.
Are you using a single venue?
If you are having your ceremony and reception at the same venue, and using that venue’s recommended suppliers for catering, music, and accommodation, a wedding planner won’t add much value to your wedding. In fact your chosen venue may have a wedding co-ordinator to do much of the work for you. If on the other hand you are using multiple venues and a variety of individual suppliers, a wedding planner can be invaluable in pulling them all together.
