Painful Hemroid Treatment

Written by Author on June 8th, 2009

There are many options when seeking hemroid treatment, we’ll take a look at the most commonly effective ones here.

Adding extra fiber to your diet, as well as drinking a lot of water prevents constipation. Constipation causes strain on your bowel muscles, which will make hemroids worse.

* There are foods that tend to worsen hemroid symptoms, the most common being nuts, coffee, all alcohols and spicy foods. If you see harmful efects of some food in your hemriods, then try not to take it for few days and look out for any positive effect.

To get complete comfort, spend ten minutes placing ice on the affected spot and then the next 20 minutes, covering the area with a damp, warm cloth.

* Don’t wipe or rub after a bowel movement, instead, use unscented baby wipes to carefully pat down the area.

This is one experience where it is better to keep physically active than sit still.

* If you have a particularly bad flare up of the piles, bed rest will take pressure off the sphincter muscles and allow the hemroids to time to subdue.

Sometimes, immersing the affected area in warm sitz bath for 15 minutes several times a day can be very soothing.

Start using bodywashes that have a larger amount of natural ingredients instead of ones filled with a lot of coloring or fragrance agents.

* Cotton undergarments will help absorb any moisture, perhaps from sweating, that can make hemroids worse.

* Zinc is considered to be a skin protectant which is commonly found in the baby diaper rash creamand which could be applied even for both to protect the delicate anal skin and as well as to prevent the itching from it too.

* Suppositories, such as Tucks and Preparation H are a hemroid treatment to be taken with extreme caution because they can cause damage to anal tissue with longer term use, and therefore should not be used for more then 7-10 days.

* At your drugstore you’ll also find hydrocortisone creams, which are anti-inflamitories and can help both inflammation and itching. If over the counter strengths don’t help, your doctor can prescribe a higher concentration.

Numbing sprays that help relieve the pain are offered in most drugstores.

Unfortunately, everyone is not helped by these treatments. Many still suffer from the itching, burning, bleeding and pain of external and internal hemroids after trying traditional treatments. Even though the above mentioned treatment would cover up the symptoms for it or relieve it temporarily, you may often find out the hemroids to come back again. There is a true hemroid treatment that exists, rather than masking the symptoms.Always to inquire with your medical professional before embarking on any hemroid treatment.
